Want to get to know Drew G a little better? He’s taken the time to answer a few questions, just for you!

What got Drew G into DJ-ing? How did you make a name for yourself?

A dare. I was playing guitar and producing for metal bands in NY and started hitting the gay circuit with friends on my off nights. While hitting up venues I met several club DJs all of which told me that DJ-ing was something I could never do and that i was a tad late in the game to start.

What is a typical weekend like for Drew G?

Airplanes, hotels and nightclubs.

What style of music do you think is most popular in gay clubs at the moment? How do you stand out from that crowd?

I actually think that groove house (basically tribal house played at straight venues ) has started to mesh well with circuit. I had veered off for a while into playing EDM music but for the past 2 years my focus has been to work out my socalhouse blend. Taking elements of circuit, groove and progressive house and placing them together.

Before you made your big break, who was your DJ Idol?

Peter Rauhofer.

Bit cheeky but… What music would you listen to with company… With the lights out?

Always something dark and sexy, I recently was listening Jack Chang’s Pig mix.

What’s the next big gig for Drew G?

Underwhere at Sydney Mardi Gras.

Let’s wrap up with a few quick questions. Which track can you absolutely not miss from any DJ set?

Right now I’m really obsessed with Sam Smith – Too Good At Goodbye.

Which track will you be starting off your next set with?

My set tonight I plan on starting off with Ann Marie – Caio Adios.
